The USCG Sector Lake Michigan building was built in 1970 with multiple additions over the years. The CGX and ESD are part of the original building.

There is asbestos containing mastic and tile in various rooms throughout the building. A pre-renovation asbestos inspection has been completed in the areas affected by this project, and no asbestos was detected. The inspection reports are attached as enclosure (3) and enclosure (4).

If any materials that are suspected of containing asbestos are encountered during this project, the onsite representative is to be notified and work is to stop until the situation can be further assessed.
