MISSISSIPPI AIR NATIONAL GUARD
172nd Airlift Wing Jackson, MS
BASE BID: Remove and Replace the 20 ton Chiller at Building 303.
• [Option_1] Remove and Replace the 70 ton Chiller at Building 240.
I. GENERAL SYNOPSIS
A. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supervision, equipment, methods and devices necessary to remove the existing chiller and replace with a proposed chiller that is efficient to the current conditions of the facility. Prior to removing the existing chiller, the contractor is responsible for adequately removing the existing refrigerant inside of the chiller. Before the contractor begins removing the existing refrigerant, they must contact the 172nd Civil Engineering Unit so that we can properly weigh the EMPTY recovery tanks as well as the refrigerant once it is released in the recovery tanks and logged accordingly in APIMS. The contractor will then be liable of disposing the refrigerant as stated by OSHA and EPA regulations.
Once all refrigerant have been removed, the contractor will utilize their equipment to remove the existing chiller from the site and place on the trailer provided by the 172nd Civil Engineering Unit. The 172nd Civil Engineering Unit will be responsible for hauling away the existing chiller. The contractor will continue to install the proposed chiller and position all proposed equipment in a layout that will provide the minimum spacing required to perform maintenance according to the factory standards. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to verify that the proposed chiller is sized accordingly to fit on the existing 8’x10’ concrete slab. The contractor is also liable for any necessary additions or modifications to the concrete slab. The contractor is responsible for all incidentals and damaged equipment and materials during the installation of the proposed chiller.
B. [Option _1] Entails the same procedures and responsibilities between the Contractor and the 172nd Civil Engineering Unit as stated above. However, the existing chiller at Building 240 is positioned between the facility and a pavilion on a 8’x17’ concrete slab. The contractor will be responsible for positioning all proposed equipment in a layout that will provide the minimum spacing required to perform maintenance according to the factory standards. This includes spacing next to the pavilion as well as the facility itself. The contractor is also liable for any necessary additions or modifications to the concrete slab. The contractor is responsible for all incidentals and damaged equipment and materials during the installation of the proposed chiller.
