About this file
This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the County of Orange, County Executive Office - Procurement Services for the rental and/or purchase of walk-through and hand-held metal detectors. The County is seeking qualified vendors to provide metal detection equipment, including multi-zone and single-zone walk-through detectors, hand-held metal detectors, and associated services such as delivery, installation, training, maintenance, and optional security guard services. The bid (IFB # 017-2923301-RE) must be received before September 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with bids remaining valid for 365 days after the closing date. The contract will support the County's 22 departments and over 18,000 employees, potentially serving over 100 locations/facilities throughout Orange County.
The pricing structure includes options for purchasing or renting walk-through and hand-held metal detectors with various rental periods (daily, weekly, monthly), as well as initial and additional training sessions, remote technical support, and security guard services. The County offers a preference for Local Small Businesses (OCLSB) and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE), with a potential 5% bid price reduction for certified businesses and up to an 8% reduction for businesses certified in both categories. The bid allows for flexibility in service delivery, with provisions for project-specific quotes, miscellaneous items, and a maximum $25,000 per invoice limit for non-listed items. The County will evaluate bids based on responsiveness, compliance, and the ability to meet the specified requirements for metal detection equipment and related services.
