About this file

This document is a Justification and Approval (J&A) for Other than Full and Open Competition - Brand Name or Equal for the procurement of various Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) items to be used in maintenance shops while working on the repair and replacement of the DPW, USAG-Humphreys Facilities.

The contracting activity is the 411th Contracting Support Brigade, which intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract for an estimated amount of $18,427.53 using FY 24 - O&M funds. The procurement will be on a brand name or equal basis, citing the authority under FAR 6.302-1(c)(2) and DFARS 206.302-1(c)(2) for only one responsible source. The salient characteristics of the required items have been defined, and the suggested manufacturer's model meets these characteristics. Other offered items may be accepted if they also meet the salient characteristics. Market research was conducted, which included obtaining quotes from three vendors, and the contracting officer anticipates competition to determine price reasonableness.
