About this file

This is a specification document for a rack dump body procurement by the State of Maine for vehicle specification 184-144. The project involves the acquisition and installation of a heavy-duty steel platform rack body with lifting hoist and removable stake racks mounted on a 2008 Ford F350 Standard Cab, DRW Cab & Chassis with a 5.4 engine and 13,000 GVW. The rack body must measure 9 feet in length by 96 inches in width and include 6-inch deep, 12-gauge formed steel outrails with reinforced stake pockets on 24-inch centers. The specification document does not indicate item quantities, response dates, due dates, site visits, or bidder's meetings; these details appear to be contained in the related contract opportunity documentation.

The specification includes detailed manufacturing and installation requirements with components including 11-gauge high-strength cross members, 10-gauge steel flooring, 28-inch high interlocking removable steel stakes, recessed lighting compliant with FMVSS 108 standards, and a single-cylinder dual-action 3000-psi electric over hydraulic hoist with 11-ton lifting capacity. Additional requirements include epoxy primer with alkyd enamel gloss black top coat and complete undercoating, front and rear black rubber mudflaps, backup alarm, Class III trailer hitch with 5,000-pound minimum weight carrying capacity, and 2-inch receiver with 7-way RV wiring. All electrical connections must use heat shrink sealing with no Scotch-Lok connectors permitted. The vendor is responsible for vehicle delivery and complete installation, with estimated delivery time and unit pricing to be provided by bidders in their proposals.
