About this file

This document provides details on a federal grant opportunity from the Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service to fund projects that address priorities in the Quagga and Zebra Mussel Action Plan for Western U.S. Waters. Specifically, the FY2024 Implementation of the Quagga and Zebra Mussel Action Plan (QZAP) in the Western United States solicitation will award approximately $2,200,000 to projects that work to limit the spread of invasive mussels through containment and inspection/decontamination programs, protect western ecosystems through prevention programs, increase compliance with laws and regulations, enhance outreach and education efforts, build capacity for detection and response to new infestations, and conduct relevant research. Eligible projects must be located within states covered by the Western Regional Panel and target one or more of the listed priorities. The grant is assigned under the Fish and Wildlife Management Assistance program (CFDA 15.608), which aims to support state aquatic nuisance species management plans through the Fish and Wildlife Service.
