About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a Veterans Affairs construction project to create a GI Anesthesia Procedure Room on the 6th Floor of the John Cochran VA facility in Leavenworth, Kansas. The project involves hospital floor and sink replacement, with work to be performed during normal business hours (8:00 am to 4:30 pm), and loud construction activities required to be conducted outside standard hours to minimize disruption to adjacent medical spaces. Key project specifications include ICRA 4 patient risk classification, no lead-lined walls or special radiation shielding requirements, and a requirement for the general contractor to provide a third-party file transfer site for submittal exchanges.
The solicitation (36C25525R0113) is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 15, with a project value estimated between $500,000 and $5,000,000. Contractors must submit proposals via FedEx, UPS, or hand delivery to the NCO 15 Contracting Office, including two physical binders and a CD with technical and price information. The project involves special tax considerations, with contractors required to include all applicable state and local sales taxes in their bid. Proprietary systems for fire alarm and security will be managed by Tech Electronics and PASS Security, respectively, and the project will be performed with an active inpatient ward in the vicinity.
