Questions & Answers
1. The cages do not need back and the only cage that will need back is the one by the wall, so I just want to make sure was he referring to the galvanized plate, so all the cages should be without the galvanized plate expect the one by the wall?
Answer 1: Only one of the cages that are to be installed up against the wall needs a back panel, the one near the door. Note that the back panels can be either non painted galvanized sheet metal or woven wire fencing.
2. I was wondering if a 10-gauge welded wire 2” x 2” is acceptable instead of woven wire?
Answer 2: Only woven wire will be accepted.
3. I noted on pgs. 4 and 9 of the Solicitation Document accompanying the RFQ the reference to the requirement/ description of the lockers as being ‘standalone.’
Does this mean that all of the lockers are to be constructed with their individual sides, backs, tops and bottoms, so that the lockers could be re arranged and stand independent of one another?
Or, does your project allow for the lockers to be constructed in the layout shown on the bid documents so that they may share a common side, tops, backs and bottoms? Meaning that the lockers will be manufactured with a ‘common’ side and ‘runs’ of material for the tops, backs and bottoms, the result being that each locker will be individual, but the individual lockers cannot be separated from the ‘run’ and stand as an independent locker with its own sides, top and bottom?
Answer 3: All rows of cages/ lockers are to be connected together sharing side panels. Double back to back rows of cages/ lockers are to also share back panels. Note that there are no bottoms.
4. Are these 121 lockers with 1 door each(total 121 doors)? Or, are these 121 frames with a shelf creating 242 lockers each with a door(i.e. 242 doors)?
Answer 4: Each of the 121 cages/ lockers will have its own swing door.
5. I just want to make certain that I’m getting you the correct locker style- I am understanding that you want 121 lockers with a shelf and ONE door each, correct?
It’s throwing me off, because I keep reading 2 tier locker. Typically, when dealing with lockers, 2 tier refers to 2 lockers with 2 doors.
I noticed you had a shelf, so I want to clarify.
Answer 5: Yes, the 121 cages/lockers are to have a shelf in the middle and one swing door. By adding the shelf makes the cages/ lockers two tier / two levels.
