About this file

This document contains a series of detailed questions and clarifications for a storage shed procurement, covering specifications for site preparation, shed structure, materials, and installation requirements. Key details include a beige vinyl shed with 8-foot side walls, black asphalt shingles, 8x8 gable vents, two doors (a 5-foot double door with a 60-inch opening and a standard single door centered on the front), and no windows. Site preparation involves a stone pad with 3/4 blue stone 4-6 inches deep, using 4x4 or 4x16 pressure-treated wood beams, with the contractor expected to minimally grade the site if needed to ensure a level installation area.

Additional specifications include standard vinyl siding, manufacturer's standard colors, 3/4-inch plywood flooring with 2x6 floor joists spaced 8 inches apart, diamond-plated door thresholds, and a one-year warranty. The shed will have no access ramp, and accessibility for delivery is confirmed to be by truck. The document systematically addresses potential vendor questions about shed dimensions, materials, construction methods, and installation requirements, providing clear guidance to ensure precise understanding of the project specifications.

Storage Shed Questions

1. Please confirm the required color specification for the vinyl shed. The Statement of

Work provides dimensions and features but does not identify a specific color or color code. Beige

2. The Statement of Work does not include windows. Please confirm that no windows are required in the shed design. NO WINDOWS

3. Can you confirm whether the ground at the installation site is leveled within a ¾-inch tolerance? This information is necessary for us to determine whether additional stone or grading work will be required and to accurately price the project. Contractor should be able to level ground up to 6 inches to ensure area is level.

4. Can the Government provide photos of the site, taken from multiple angles?

5. Will the site be pre-cleared and graded, or should the contractor anticipate excavation and tree/brush removal? Site is clear

6. Please confirm whether the site is accessible by truck/trailer for delivery of the prefabricated shed, or if restricted access (e.g., limited vehicle size or hand-carrying) should be assumed. ACCESSABLE

7. The SOW calls for using “3/4 blue stone and quality wood beams.” Could the Government clarify the required depth of the stone layer and the size/type of wood beams to be used (e.g., 4x4, 6x6, pressure-treated)? 3/4 stone 4 inches deep for drainage. 4x4 or 4x 16 pressure treated wood

1. dSirte Conditions o Will the site be pre-cleared and graded, or should the contractor anticipate excavation and tree/brush removal? contractor should be prepared to minimally grade if needed to ensure level o Please confirm whether the site is accessible by truck/trailer for delivery of the prefabricated shed, or if restricted access (e.g., limited vehicle size or hand-carrying) should be assumed. accessible by truck

2. Pad Construction o The SOW calls for using “3/4 blue stone and quality wood beams.” Could the

Government clarify the required depth of the stone layer and the size/type of wood beams to be used (e.g., 4x4, 6x6, pressure-treated)?

o Should the beams be anchored or staked, or simply serve as edging for the stone base? staked is fine o The SOW also notes the site shall be leveled “within 6 inches.” Can the Government confirm whether this refers to the condition of the existing site prior to pad construction, or whether the finished pad itself is permitted to vary by that amount? Prior to pad construction o Please confirm the required excavation depth and compacted stone thickness for the pad. Shed pad installer will know the requirements to ensure shed is above area to prevent water rot. stone pad should be at least 4 to 6 inches deep for drainage moisture barrier

B. Shed Structure & Dimensions

3. Wall Height o Please confirm if there are minimum wall or peak height requirements for the shed, or if a manufacturer’s standard A-frame vinyl shed is acceptable.

o Suppliers typically offer wall height options such as 6’, 6’-½”, 7’, 7’-½”, and 8’ side walls. Please confirm whether any of these are acceptable or if a minimum height is required. 8 foot side walls

4. Roof Pitch o Please confirm whether a specific roof pitch is required for the A-frame shed, or if a manufacturer’s standard pitch (e.g., 5/12) is acceptable. standard is fine

5. Roofing Materials o The SOW mentions “tar paper” but does not specify the final roof covering.

Please confirm whether asphalt shingles are required, and if so, whether a specific grade, color, or manufacturer is preferred. If shingles are not required, please specify acceptable roofing materials. SHINGLES black

6. Vents o The SOW requires 2 vents. Please confirm whether standard 8x8 gable vents are acceptable, or if a specific vent type/size (e.g., ridge, louvered, larger dimensions) is required. 8x8 acceptable

7. Doors & Access

7. Door Configuration o The Statement of Work specifies “one 5' door and one single door on front.”

Please confirm whether the 5' door is intended to be a double-door set (≈60" opening) and whether both doors are to be located on the same front wall, or on different sides of the shed. 60" opening on side closest to roll up door

8. Door Placement o Please confirm whether there is a preferred placement for the single entry door (e.g., to the left or right of the 5' double door), or if contractor/manufacturer standard placement is acceptable. CENTER of front

9. Door Dimensions o Please confirm the required width and height for the single entry door (e.g., 36" width, 72–80" height). If a standard manufacturer’s single door (≈3' wide x 6'–6’8" high) is acceptable, please confirm. standard

10. Door Materials & Locking Hardware o Please confirm whether specific door materials and lock types are required

(e.g., steel vs. vinyl doors, keyed entry vs. padlock hasp), or if standard manufacturer-provided doors and locking hardware are acceptable. VINYL DOORS with locking hardware
