About this file
This document is a set of Questions and Answers related to a scissor table lift procurement by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center. The Q&A provides detailed specifications for the lift table, including maximum platform and base dimensions of 36" x 54", requirements for being towable over paved roads with a lunette eye hitch, ability to be lifted by forklift, and capability to withstand 25 mph winds when fully extended. Key clarifications include that wheels can extend beyond platform dimensions, towing is anticipated up to one mile at 5-10 mph, and the table will be used outdoors without human presence, thus not requiring safety rails or harness attachments.
The solicitation (FA8125-25-Q-0046) seeks a specialized lift table with specific design constraints, emphasizing mobility, durability, and functional adaptability for military logistics applications. The vendor must precisely adhere to dimensional restrictions, ensure forklift compatibility, and design the table to withstand outdoor environmental conditions, with the understanding that it will be used for material handling without direct human operation on the platform.

Questions and Answers Element: Max platform dimensions of 36" x 54".
Question 1: Are these exactly required dimensions? With doing a double high scissor table to reach your heights specified, we would be looking at a platform size of 36” x 84”.
Answer 1: These are the required restrictions. A platform of 36” x 84” is too large.
Element: Max base dimensions of 36" x 54"
Question 2: Base size are determined by the platform size, again are these exact measurements?
Answer 2: Yes. It is acceptable for the wheels alone to extend beyond the platform dimensions.
Element: Towable over paved roads with lunette eye hitch (MS51336).
Question 3: Please provide more information on what is meant by towable. For what distance is towing anticipated & at what speeds? Will castors suffice or are we looking at pneumatic tires?
Answer 3: Towable means that we can attach the lift table to a tug/tractor and pull them up to a mile, typically at 5 mph but up to 10 mph, over concrete but occasionally going over rough surfaces (i.e., hangar door tracks). Castors should be sufficient.
Element: Can be lifted by forklift
Question 4: Does this mean ‘fork pockets’ are desired?
Answer 4: The lift table should be designed such that it can be picked up by a forklift without causing damage especially by having areas built into it designed for the forks of a forklift to go for picking it up.
Element: Withstand wind forces from 25mph winds when fully extended.
Question 5: Will this be subject to outside elements that would require stainless steel components? Will a person be on this lift with a load, are safety rails or harness attachments needed etc?
Answer 5: It will be outside while in use. It will never have a person on it and does not need railing or harness anchor points.
