About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract W91QF426BA007, an asphalt project on Sherman Road. The document addresses seven key inquiries from contractors regarding project scope and requirements.

The Q&A clarifies critical project specifications: full depth removal and replacement of asphalt requires removal and replacement of aggregate base and/or subgrade if deemed unsuitable material. Concrete curb and gutter removal involves three lump sum quantities totaling approximately 560 linear feet (100 feet along Sherman Avenue, 50 feet along Buford Avenue, and approximately 410 feet on Sheet C4), distributed across multiple sections with a minimum length of 10 feet per section. Areas to be removed will be marked prior to construction. Any curb and gutter damage caused by the contractor must be repaired or replaced. Base patching in 2-inch mill and overlay areas is the contractor's responsibility, with patching required for any deficient areas identified after milling completion. Backfill areas must be seeded and mulched. Key personnel requirements are specified in section 1.6 of the project specifications. Curb and gutter reinforcement requires three 5/8-inch by 2-foot smooth dowels.
