NOFO SFOP0009810

Strengthening Sustainable Communities in Panama and Costa Rica - Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs Questions and Answers, June 6, 2023

Question: Hello Mr. White, I am reaching out to you for information about the international grant with Panama and Costa Rica. I would like more information or the step-by-step instructions on applying to obtain this grant. Thank you so much.

Response: The main source of information on how to apply to this grant is the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) document. Additional step-by-step instructions can also be found in the Proposal Submission Instructions (PSI).

Question: I saw the grant listed in the subject line of this email and wanted to inquire about the requirement to be a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit to apply. We have some skilling solutions/capabilities that could assist with the objectives of this grant and have a local partner in Panama and Costa Rica that could help deploy them, but wanted to see if you have any preferences or guidance on non-profits you prefer to work with or that would be particularly valuable to this project as we consider partnerships that could enable effective execution of the type of initiative?

Response: For deciding which non-profits you would like to subcontract with, please refer to the objectives and activities in section A2 of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to decide which parts of the grant you would like the subcontracted organization to handle, such as objectives and activities related to Tourism or Gender Equality.

Question: I was recently searching the database at Grants.gov and found this grant:

SFOP0009810

Strengthening Sustainable Communities in Panama and Costa Rica Department of State

I have largely prepared the grant offline and noticed the APPLY button is not red. I believe the closing date is July of 23'. Is it too early to submit? Or am I missing something?

Response: It is not too early to apply. If you continue to experience technical difficulties, please contact grants.gov help desk. Per the Notice of Funding Opportunity, State Department does not provide technical assistance.
