Civil Society Dialogue in Brazil and Colombia in Support of the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs Race, Ethnicity, and Social Inclusion (RESI) Goals
Bureau of Western Hemisphere
Questions and Answers. May 10, 2023
Question: For the call, is it necessary to formulate bilateral projects between Colombia and Brazil or is it possible that it is only for Colombia and for a particular community?
Response: Applications must include both Brazil and Colombia. The level of interaction between the two countries can be proposed by the applicant.
Question: Can the scholarship holders receive any type of money or are they only considering scholarships for training, food and materials?
Response: Applications must include monetary stipends for all fellowship participants through the duration of the proposed fellowship period.
Question: Can the experts hired be from the same community, in this case indigenous people (translators and mediators)? Could these experts also access training grants?
Response: There are no restrictions related to the origin of hired or contracted staff nor does it impact eligibility for any proposed subawards or implementing partnerships. Competitive proposals will describe how activities will invest in actors from marginalized racial and ethnic groups who advocate for and advance equity and inclusion and address how the project will strategically and meaningfully include vulnerable and marginalized populations to ensure diverse and broad participation in activities
