About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file related to a Performance Work Statement for dialysis water testing. The Q&A addresses a specific inquiry about testing volumes and clarifies the details of dialysis testing procedures. The current vendor uses a comprehensive testing kit that involves 156 total tests annually across three machines, broken down as follows: 36 LAL Product Water tests, 36 Colony Count Product Water tests, 36 LAL Dialysate tests, 36 Colony Count Dialysate tests, and 12 AAMI Panel tests. These tests are conducted monthly (for most tests) or quarterly (for AAMI Panel), covering multiple testing parameters for water and dialysate quality across three machines.

QUESTION:

Under Performance Work Statement, page 10, TABLE1- the last line on the table is “Dialysis 156”, then on page 11, TABLE 2- it lists the dialysis tests to be performed but does not give annual volumes.

What are the annual sample volumes for Table-2? Are these volumes included in the estimates in Table-1 for bacteria and endotoxin?

ANSWER:

Our current vendor has a ‘kit’ for the dialysis water testing they send to us. The individual tests/components of the kit are not included in the individual test counts from table one, Dialysis with a count of 156 refers to the number of tests per year in the kits. Table 2 provides the breakdown of the test in the kit(s) to reach the156 tests.

LAL Product Water Monthly 3 Machines = 12month/yr x 3 machines = 36 tests Colony Count Product Water Monthly 3 Machines = 12months/yr x 3 machines = 36 tests LAL Dialysate Monthly 3 Machines = 12month/yr x 3 machines = 36 tests Colony Count Dialysate Monthly 3 Machines = 12months/yr 3 machines = 36 tests AAMI Panel Quarterly 3 Machines = 4 quarters/yr x 3 machines = 12 tests Grand Total Number of Dialysis Tests = 156 tests
