About this file
This is a Question and Answer document for a Request for Bid (RFB) issued by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for Refuse and Recycling Services (Event Number 2026-UWWTW-01235-RFB). The solicitation, posted on April 6, 2026, requires bidders to submit responses by May 15, 2026, through the SciQuest bidding platform. The university requires actual weights for commercial trash and recycling reported monthly in spreadsheet format, with recycling commodities broken out by type rather than reported as single-stream data. Saturday service is mandatory, and the university maintains responsibility for managing pallets, furniture, mattresses, televisions, and refrigerators in designated corral areas, while contractors are responsible for removing excessive bags that accumulate from missed routes. The refuse and recycling areas are currently operating at maximum efficient capacity, precluding expansion of container quantities as an alternative to maintaining Saturday service.
The procurement does not establish set-asides for disadvantaged businesses, and no incumbent contractor information, estimated award value, budget range, or contract term details are disclosed in the available documentation. Vendors are directed to consult complete bid documents on the SciQuest platform for specifications regarding service levels, collection schedules, performance standards, insurance requirements, contract duration, and evaluation criteria. All inquiries regarding the solicitation should be directed to Ryan Moore at moorer@uww.edu.
