Question and Answer

Q1: Is the AAMI testing annually or monthly? If monthly, how many sources will be tested? As needed. There is no set schedule.

Q2: What is the frequency of testing for Endotoxins? 37/ month plus any reruns that may be needed Q3: What is the frequency of testing for bacteria/colony count? 37/ month plus any reruns that may be needed Q4: How many sources are being tested for bacteria/colony count? 37/ month plus any reruns that may be needed Q5: How many sources are being tested for endotoxins? 37/ month plus any reruns that may be needed Q6: Are all 612 tests routine or are retests included in that figure for bacteria/colony count and endotoxins? Retests are included Q7: Are all 70 tests routine or are retests included in that figure for AAMI testing? Only 14 / year are estimated.

Q8: How often have retests been needed for each analysis in the past? On average, there is about 7 retests / month.

Q9: Is this a new requirement? If not, who is the incumbent? NEW Combined Synopsis 36C24424Q1026 Dialysis Water Testing Question Q10: Combined Synopsis Page 10, #5 Past Performance and Attachment B Past Performance Questionnaire. Page 10 states “Offerors shall provide references…” but Attachment B requires the reference to fill it out and return to the government. Can the government clarify if Offerors are required to send the Questionnaire to references and ask the references to submit it back to the Government AND include the form in the proposal? I can take them at the time your proposal is submitted.

Q.11: Will the government extend the due date to allow time for questions and answers to be posted and for past performance questionnaires to be returned if they are required? No, this has been posted for two weeks now.

Q.12:

Bacteria/Colony Count - 7 day test gives a general idea of the testing request, but is not specific enough to allow us to confidently choose an analytical method to include on our proposal. What specific bacteria and type of result is being requested? Below are the methods we currently hold on our scope of accreditation:

Total Coliform/ E.coli MPN (Most Probable Number) by Standard Method 9223 B, incubates at 18 hours.

Heterotrophic Plate Count by Standard Method 9215 B, incubates at 48 hours.

Any other methods used or deviations from our current methods will require qualification on the final report. Is this acceptable?

The lab should also be certified for testing of dialysis water For the cultures, we are looking for Heterotrophic pate counts using Tryptone Glucose Extract Agar (TGEA) or Reasoner’s Agar Number 2 (R2A) incubated at 17 oC to 23 oC for 7 days as specified in ANSI/ISO 23500: 2019 For endotoxin, we are looking for testing with a sensitivity of at least 0.01 endotoxin units/mL (EU/mL) as specified in ANSI/ISO 23500: 2019
