This document contains details of a federal grant opportunity notice from the United States Department of State's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs. The Caribbean United for Women's Economic Empowerment (CUWEE) project seeks proposals to address systemic barriers and socio-cultural attitudes challenging gender equity and equality in the Caribbean economy. It intends to build economic resilience and skills capacity for women and adolescent girls aged 16 and older to enable labor force entry and economic security. Subject to available funds, one $1,973,359 award will be issued through a cooperative agreement for up to three years under the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs Grant Programs CFDA number 19.750. The project should start in October 2024 and strengthen local civil society support actors engaged in advancing women's economic security through identifying barriers, and supporting competitions for local organizations to develop pioneering solutions for overcoming barriers to women's economic security. It will also provide capacity building for a regional Caribbean network of organizations engaged in women's economic empowerment.
