About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a CyberSecurity solicitation (Solicitation 2024-6) issued by Pueblo County School District 70 in Colorado. The document contains 41 questions and answers related to the district's cybersecurity requirements, covering topics such as current technology infrastructure, endpoint devices, monitoring needs, and implementation expectations. The district seeks a comprehensive cybersecurity solution for 21 schools and 2 administrative complexes, with a total of 12,000 endpoints, including 5,000 MACs, 11,000 Chromebooks, and 600 Windows machines, along with 52 Windows and 2 Linux servers. The district requires a 24/7 vendor-monitored solution with automatic remediation capabilities, targeting full implementation by February 7th, 2024.
The current technology environment includes Sophos InterceptX Advanced for endpoint protection, a single Palo Alto firewall, and a hybrid Active Directory model. The district utilizes Education Licensing for Microsoft and Google platforms, with 10,000 students and 1,500 staff members. All devices are district-issued, and they are seeking a solution that can integrate with existing tools like Sophos and Palo Alto firewalls. The district emphasizes the need for automatic threat detection, isolation of endpoints, blocking of outgoing communications, and a vendor-provided console for reporting. No current cybersecurity contractor is in place, and the district is open to vendors presenting their optimal solution within the existing technological framework. Log retention is specified as one month, and the district seeks a solution that does not require a dedicated internal staff member for management.
