About this file
This file is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for GPO QCIM Room Renovation solicitation 040ADV-26-R-0012, with an extended proposal due date of May 1, 2026, at 5:00 PM EST.
The renovation involves converting laboratory and storage spaces (rooms B541, B541A, B543, B544, and T521) within a GPO facility. Key scope items include: installation of a new SPXFlow Lightnin X5P100 mixer with dedicated exhaust fan in room B543; demolition and replacement of terrazzo flooring in room T521 with concrete fill; construction of metal stud gypsum board partitioning between storage areas; installation of a sliding door with vision lite to the mixing room; reconfiguration of plumbing systems with fixture capping and abandonment; security upgrades including card readers, door monitoring switches, and Request to Exit (REX) devices; HVAC modifications with auxiliary heaters for all spaces; electrical work including standard LED lighting with wall switches and occupancy sensors; and installation of a Protector XL Laboratory Hood. GPO will provide and install equipment, tables, metal shelves, and handle mixer relocation. Design phase specifications will determine wall and ceiling finishes, door hardware (accepting Corbin Russwin 6 pin large format cores), and fume hood details. Contractors must assume existing HVAC system has sufficient capacity, confirm existing ductwork is acceptable for fume exhaust, and account for forklift access to storage room B541 (utilizing a sliding door, with consideration for the Hyster N35ZRS3 model). Past performance submissions may include multiple projects from the same client with distinct evaluators, and key personnel may dual-hat roles with specified exceptions, including a single-hatted Safety Lead requirement. A bid bond is required, contrary to initial documentation.
