Four Hand-Painted Canvas Floor Cloths:
Philip Schuyler House Reception Hall, Father’s Office, and Upper Hall
SARATOGA NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK
June2023
Questions and Answers:
1. Is there any leeway in the 150-day project completion? If so, may I suggest an eta I can work within? Knowing the size of the floorcloths requires additional production time. Yes, there is some flexibility in the delivery date. Please provide the estimated project completion date with your quote. A final delivery date will be determined prior to award.
2. May I get a picture of the John Carwitham design? The design was provided in Attachment 2 on SAM.Gov.
3. Concerning #1 wall to wall mat, what is the widest point of the room? It’s noted mats need to be one piece of canvas. Maximum width is 11‘6“. Our previous floor mat for the Reception Hall was made of two sections joined together. If that is what it would realistically take in terms of the size of canvas, then it would be acceptable as long as the seaming is invisible on the top and tight on the bottom surface so that there is no chance the seam will separate or buckle. The floor plan enclosed in the package shows the measurements of the room.
4. Is the padding that will be placed under the floorcloths being supplied by the bidder or the Park's Service? The padding is to be supplied by the bidder.
5) Can a 50% deposit be provided upfront, vs. 100% of the payment following installation? No.
6) The Carwitham design size is specified as 18" on the square, with the pattern being deployed on the diagonal, which yields a 25.5" repeat. Is this correct? The intent is to have the larger squares in the pattern be 18" square. Each of the larger squares, whether marbled or solid color, should be 18".
7) Borders are specified on several of the floorcloths. Are the borders solid-colored bands or is there a separate design for the borders that are not included in the solicitation?
The borders should be solid colored bands. There is not a separate design for the borders.
