About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document related to the State of Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Cisco SmartNet Maintenance FY27 solicitation, restricted to authorized Master Contractors. The inquiry addresses Cisco's migration of AIR-DNA-E (Catalyst Wireless Advantage) licenses from legacy SKUs to an updated Cisco Networking Subscription model. The primary questions concern whether bidders should quote the original legacy AIR-DNA-E SKUs as specified in the original Bid Sheet Specifications or whether MDOT permits vendors to quote updated Cisco Networking Subscription equivalent SKUs, and if so, whether a revised Bid Sheet Specification would be issued or vendors should provide side-by-side mapping documentation with their submissions. The solicitation includes an incumbent account ID of 292597 and is scheduled for renewal in FY27, with proposals due August 25, 2026.

MDOT has clarified that an updated Bid Sheet should be referenced and that bidders must quote the specific serial number highlighted in blue on line 1111 of Cisco quote #422021954, with the CCWR system automatically prompting for the correct item upon entry. Cisco recommends that partners quote items as included on the provided quote without making independent changes to wireless license lines, with support available from Shaun McKenzie (shmckenz@cisco.com) for any system quoting issues. For Smart Account resolution during the quoting process, MDOT has provided its Smart Account domain identifier as mdot.maryland.gov. This solicitation is exclusively available to vendors previously selected under the existing Master Contract and prohibits new bidders from submitting proposals.

Text version

Cisco has designated the AIR-DNA-E (Catalyst Wireless Advantage) licenses as eligible for migration to the updated Cisco Networking Subscription model. To ensure complete compliance with State requirements and Cisco manufacturer guidelines, we respectfully request clarification on the following:

1. Should bidders quote the legacy AIR-DNA-E SKUs as listed in the original Bid Sheet Specifications, or does MDOT permit/prefer vendors to quote the updated Cisco Networking Subscription equivalent SKUs?

2. If the updated Cisco Networking Subscription migration is permitted, will MDOT issue a revised Bid Sheet Specification tab reflecting the updated SKUs, or should vendors include a side-by-side mapping with our submission?

Answer: **See updated Bid Sheet to reflect these changes. From Cisco:

Bidders need to quote the SN highlighted in blue on line 1111 of quote #422021954. When bidders go to quote this in CCWR it will prompt them to quote the correct item and it should auto quote that correct SN.

In terms of updating the wireless licenses, it is suggested the partners quote what is included on the quote and to not change these lines. If there are issues quoting, please reach out to Shaun McKenzie (shmckenz@cisco.com)

3. While preparing the quote, we encountered a few errors in Cisco's quoting system. To resolve these issues and finalize the quote, we'll need your/the customer's Smart Account information.

Please provide one of the following:

• Smart Account domain identifier

• Smart Account name

• Email address associated with the Smart Account

Answer: Smart Account domain identifier: mdot.maryland.gov
