About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document related to a 2016 vault toilet construction project in the Southwest Region of Colorado. The document addresses two primary inquiries submitted by bidders following the pre-bid conference. The project involves the installation of multiple vault toilets at PMAA, SWRS, Coller SWA, Rio Grand SWA, and Woods Lake SWA locations, with each facility requiring a wheelchair-accessible parking space and pathway to the toilet structure.

The document clarifies that 63 cubic yards of roadbase material will be allocated for constructing wheelchair-accessible parking spaces and paths from those spaces to each toilet facility, with exact locations to be determined in the field by the project manager and compensated under Item 7 of the Bid Schedule. Regarding testing requirements, the contractor is responsible for ensuring adequate foundation conditions to support the vault, building, and associated loads, though formal soils testing is not required. The toilet manufacturer will conduct all necessary concrete testing. The response was provided by Peggy Silcox on March 23, 2016, indicating this information was distributed prior to bid submission.
