About this file

This is a Sources Sought Questions and Answers document for ACU-2 Alignment and Preventative Maintenance services. The document addresses inquiries from potential vendors regarding a motor maintenance contract for equipment located at Edwards Air Force Base, Building B1030.

The service requirements include annual bearing maintenance, component inspection, lubrication, alignment, and operational checks to be performed once per year. Vendors must obtain VCC and Compound clearance prior to work, with clearance request forms required four duty days before any site visit. The contract scope extends beyond routine preventative maintenance to include emergency repair services for unexpected motor failures, with vendors responsible for troubleshooting and repairing bearing and/or electrical failures. The motor specifications are provided via nameplate data photograph, showing a Baldor Reliance Super-E motor (Model M41-0329-2746) with 500 horsepower, 3565 RPM, 460 volts, 3-phase, 544 amps, and a frame size of 449TS. The motor is lubricated with Mobil Polyrex EM and is manufactured by Baldor Electric Company in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
