DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
309 CMXG 532 CMMXS has a requirement for the repair of various outer cylinders utilizing the magnetron sputtering process. The contractor shall restore the inner diameter of the delivered outer cylinders utilizing the magnetron sputtering process, followed by transportation back to 309 CMXG. All subsequent processing requirements to restore the outer cylinder to a serviceable condition shall be accomplished by 309 CMXG. All labor and material required for the sputtering process shall be included in the scope of this effort.
BASIC SERVICES
| The contractor shall receive, process through the sputter repair to include required surface preparation, and return the outer cylinder to 309 CMXG at Hill AFB within 30 calendar days. Orders issued under this contract will be based upon our current known requirement immediately requiring repair as well as estimated future requirement with individual orders not to exceed the full estimated amount for the year. The outer cylinders will have no protective coatings during transportation. In order to protect from humid air or shop environment that may accelerate corrosion, the contractor shall unpack the part(s) just prior to processing. The contractor shall prevent damage to or corrosion of the outer cylinder while in possession and during return transport back to Hill AFB by appropriately protecting and covering as needed. | Comment by RHODES, GLENDA J CIV USAF AFMC 309 CMXG/MXDE: Do we need to specify “repair, to include surface preparation...” in this? It should be a given, but you never know. | Comment by RHODES, GLENDA J CIV USAF AFMC 309 CMXG/MXDE: Will we be doing the shot peen prior to sending? We may want to clarify since the Drawing for the sputter repair calls out the shot peen. | Comment by BOURNAKIS, COSTADENA CIV USAF AFMC OL_H/PZIMC: Is this standard time frame or will more time be needed? | Comment by TRUJILLO, JULIE A CIV USAF AFMC 309 CMXG/MXDSR: Contractor states 5-10 days lead time. We are giving increased to accommodate holidays/constraints. |
| Sputtering repair of the outer cylinder shall be in accordance with the associated repair Technical Order (TO) listed in Table 1 and drawing 20157831. The contractor shall clean and grit blast the parts per drawing 20157831 prior to sputtering, however shot peening is not required as it will be accomplished by 309 CMXG prior to shipping to the contractor. Records of any required testing, validation or verification shall be provided upon request by the Government within 7 (seven) business days, but are not required to be shipped with each lot of outer cylinders. (CDRL A001) | Comment by RHODES, GLENDA J CIV USAF AFMC 309 CMXG/MXDE: If you track back through the TOs you come to this drawing but we may want to specify in here. |
Any deviations from the repairs authorized in the TO will be documented on a fully signed and completed AFMC Form 202, provided by 309 CMXG in paper copy to the contractor & shipped with the asset for the contractor’s use.
Comment by RHODES, GLENDA J CIV USAF AFMC 309 CMXG/MXDE: I don’t know how long it has been since they have performed this test-should we put in the PWS that preproduction tests as detailed in the drawing must be ran and passed prior to beginning work on this contract and then biannually throughout (the bi-annual is a drawing requirement) Table 1.
