PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (PWS)
Recalibration and Service of Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Stations
January 10, 2024
General: This is a non-personal service(s) contract under which the personnel rendering the service(s) are not subject, either by the contract’s terms or by the manner of its administration, to the supervision and control usually prevailing in relationships between the Government and its employees.
Description of Services/Introduction: This is a non-personal service(s) contract to provide recalibration and servicing to six (6) existing Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Stations.
Background: The Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) program currently operates a number of stationary terrestrial lidar scanners. The requested service and calibration would provide the ability to collect laser scans of more isolated, remote, or otherwise difficult to observe geographic features, which will in turn result in improved development of 3D topographic models. The terrestrial lidar systems currently used by the GIS program have been extensively used and the requested service will enable more dynamic area mapping and enhance our collection capability by calibrating the equipment to industry standards.
The requested calibration and servicing to GIS Program SX10’s will provide department Cadets and Faculty access to state-of-the-art terrestrial point cloud acquisition and research as well as electronic distance measurement, in line with current practices available to academia and professionals. The current technological advancements in the fields of laser surveying and geospatial measurement requires the program to maintain survey-grade measurements capabilities. These capabilities are critical to the program curriculum. This directly meets the requirements that support the GIS program’s USGIF accreditation.
Scope: Recalibration and servicing of existing scanning total stations, Trimble SX10 as outlined in background. The Contractor shall provide non-personal service(s). The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to perform services as described in the PWS and associated contract. The Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering GIS Program shall provide the existing Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Stations for recalibration and servicing.
Period of Performance: This is a one-time service for recalibration and servicing.
Security: The contractor will perform the service off-site from West Point, CONUS and is unclassified.
Coverage: The equipment covered under this Performance Work Statement consists of:
• Six (6) Trimble Scanning Total Stations
