PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (PWS)

PEARL HARBOR NAVAL SHIPYARD AND INTERMEDIATE MAINTENANCE FACILITY (PHNSY&IMF)

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE and REPAIR of GAS CHROMATOGRAPHS – WASSON ECE

INSTRUMENTATION

1.0 Background: October 2016, the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) Laboratory Division acquired an Agilent 7890 GC system comprised of one (1 ea.) Agilent 7697A Headspace autosampler and one (1 ea.) OI Analytical XSD 5360 detector from Wasson ECE Instrumentation.

1.1 Gas chromatography (GC) is an advanced analytical tool used for separating chemicals in a mixture. Gas chromatographs pass samples through a column on which the various compounds separate as a function of chemical and physical properties that affect their interaction with the column matrix. Affinity for this matrix and the intensity of signal detected as a compound exits the column allows for qualitative and quantitative examination of chemicals present in trace amounts.

1.2 The complexity and sensitivity of these instruments require compatible, performance verified materials and technically competent service engineers to maintain optimum performance, preserve the Government’s investment, and ensure personnel safety. Services must be provided in a timely manner, as analytical downtime impacts the mission essential functions of U.S.

naval vessel and shore-based commands.

2.0 Scope/Objective: This scope/objective applies to the base contract and one (1) option year.

2.1 PHNSY & IMF requires contractor support services to perform the required annual preventive maintenance and repairs on the two Agilent 7890 GC system, including one (1 ea.) Agilent 7697A Headspace autosampler and one (1 ea.) OI Analytical XSDTM 5360 detector

2.1.1 Specific equipment under the scope of the PWS include the following:

2.1.2 Agilent 7890B Gas Chromatograph (GC), 1 ea. Systems, Serial No. .
