About this file
This notice is a solicitation for a sole-source contract to provide the purchase, delivery, and on-site reload of radioactive sources for a JL Shepherd 81-14Q Gamma Calibrator. The United States Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Directorate for Safety requires five radiation sources of varying curie amounts to be delivered to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland by September 16, 2020. JL Shepherd & Associates is identified as the only source that can meet the proprietary reloading requirements for the existing calibration system. No other manufacturer can fulfill the government's need without unacceptable delays or substantial replacement costs. Interested parties may identify their capability to respond by the specified due date, though the contracting officer retains sole discretion to determine if the requirement will be competed.
