About this file

This is a Purchase Description for a Lab Standard Microphone System procurement by the U.S. Army TMDE Activity (USATA) at Redstone Arsenal. The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Redstone is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources for a brand name purchase or equivalent of one Lab Standard Microphone System to replace three microphones that were lost due to damage. The replacement is critical to prevent shutdown of the Acoustics Laboratory, as all accredited parameters within the lab are dependent on these laboratory-grade microphones, and reciprocity calibration requires three microphones of the same model to function properly.

The required system shall include: one 4180-PTO 1/2" Calibration Condenser Microphone (laboratory standard); one ET-2014-W-002 Primary DPLA Microphone Calibration unit (1/3 octave frequencies 10Hz to 25 kHz for type 4180); one 4160-PTO 1" Laboratory Standard Pressure Microphone with 200V Polarization; one ET-2014-W-001 Primary DPLA Microphone Calibration unit (1/3 octave frequencies 2Hz to 10kHz for type 4160, results calculated per IEC 61094-2:2009/AMD1:2022); one AO-0087-D-012 coaxial cable with BNC connectors (1.2m/4.0ft, rated to +85°C); and two shipping units. Delivery is required to U.S. Army TMDE Activity, Building 5435, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898, Attention: Ricardo Gutierrez. The solicitation utilizes NAICS Code 334310.
