PURCHASE DESCRIPTION
1. Statement of Need and Purpose:
The National Institute on Aging (NIA), Intramural Research Program (IRP), Laboratory of Clinical Investigation (LCI), Clinical Core Laboratory (CCL) requires Cryo.S Biobanking Tubes and Racks.
2. Background Information and Objective:
The National Institute on Aging (NIA), Intramural Research Program (IRP), Laboratory of Clinical Investigation (LCI), Clinical Core Laboratory (CCL) processes, labels, catalogs, and stores clinical research samples from each participant to NIA clinical study (ex.: BLSA, GESTALT, HANDLS, KE, CR, etc.), and distribute them to NIA research laboratories and around the world. The CCL requires the Cryo.S biobanking tubes with datamatrix codes in order to aliquot longitudinal human samples processed (mostly plasma, serum, urine, stool, RBCc, DNA and RNA) in the laboratory and to be stored long-term in the biorepository, and later distribution to researchers for further studies and tests. These specific cryovials are needed to ensure continuity and uniformity with existing tubes and barcodes. These cryovials with datamatrix and accessory storage racks are optimized for automated and efficient storage systems. These cryovalias are compatible with the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) currently used I the laboratory and in the biorepository.
3. Generic Name of Product: Cryotubes
4. Description: Cryo.S Biobanking Tubes: 300 μL, 600 μL, and 1000 μL and Cryo.S Tube Racks
