About this file

This is a Notice of Intended Decision to Enter into a Single Source Contract filed by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for coordination and training events with the Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA). The FDOT intends to procure training workshop services to support the development and maintenance of a well-trained workforce within Florida's public transportation sector. The services include planning and executing training opportunities throughout the State of Florida for transit system personnel and transportation professionals, as well as technical support for agencies delivering rural transit services. These events facilitate informational exchanges among FPTA, FDOT, and the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) to promote operational improvements and advancement of programs administered by the Transit Office. No specific response dates, due dates, site visits, or bidders' meetings are identified in the document. The contract is intended as a single source acquisition with no stated term or renewal options outlined.

The total contract price is $790,459.00. The FDOT justifies the single source acquisition by emphasizing that FPTA is a non-profit organization representing urban and rural transit systems and is the only transit association in Florida with the specialized staff and resources necessary to effectively execute training events related to the transit industry. FPTA possesses extensive experience brokering training programs across the state and has specialized knowledge of FDOT's policies and procedures. The document notes that FPTA is the representative association of every major public transit agency in Florida. No specific funding sources, set-asides, or incumbent information is provided in the document. The notice was posted on the Vendor Bid System and is subject to protest procedures outlined in Florida Statutes Section 120.57(3).
