About this file

The document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Education for the development, update, and implementation of the Florida Safe Schools Assessment Tool (FSSAT), a digital security risk assessment tool. The Department requires continued revisions to the FSSAT templates and secure system maintenance and services for a 3-year term, as mandated by Florida Statutes. The intended single source for these services is Digital Sandbox, Inc. (d/b/a Haystax), which was previously selected through a Request for Proposal in 2014 to develop and construct the FSSAT. The estimated dollar amount for this contract is $2,585,000.

The justification for the single source acquisition is that the FSSAT is a proprietary online safety assessment system that houses the state's mandated school security risk assessments, and Haystax Technology (formerly Digital Sandbox, Inc.) is the only vendor capable of providing the required services. This document is being posted for at least 15 business days to allow prospective vendors to provide information regarding their ability to supply the requested commodities or contractual services. If no viable alternatives are identified, the Department intends to enter into a single-source purchase contract with Haystax Technology.
