About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). FDLE intends to purchase the IDEMIA Case AFIS System and Case AFIS Training Services. The purpose of the IDEMIA Case AFIS is to assist Latent Print Examiners with their manual comparisons by providing a quick means of importing exemplar prints associated with a case and searching latent prints against them. The intended single source is IDEMIA, located in Anaheim, California, and the estimated dollar amount is $115,000. IDEMIA is the only firm that can provide end-to-end support for the Case AFIS System due to the customized deployment, including warranty support, technical support services, configuration management, systems administration, performance tuning, programming, training, and return to factory repairs. The key application software is proprietary to IDEMIA.
The single source determination is subject to a 7-business day posting period, during which prospective vendors may provide information regarding their ability to supply the commodities or contractual services described. If it is determined that the commodities or contractual services are available only from a single source, FDLE will provide notice of its intended decision to enter a single-source purchase contract in the manner specified in Section 120.57(3), Florida Statutes.
