About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Revenue for a 12-month maintenance agreement for OPEX mailing equipment. The intended single source is OPEX Corporation, who certifies they are the sole authorized source for sales, parts, and services on this proprietary equipment. The maintenance agreement is estimated to cost $350,000. Any prospective vendors must provide information in writing regarding their ability to supply the requested services by June 6, 2024 at 3:00 PM EST. The jurisdictions involved are Leon County and Tampa City.
The justification for the single source acquisition is that the OPEX equipment utilizes proprietary service diagnostic software covered by patents and copyrights, and OPEX's maintenance staff has the expert technical training and experience required to support and maintain the equipment. The agency has determined that the requested services are only available from OPEX Corporation.
