About this file
The document is a "DESCRIPTION OF INTENDED SINGLE SOURCE PURCHASE (PUR 7776)" issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). FDOT intends to enter into a single-source contract with TRAINFO Corporation for a Trainfo rail detection system using acoustic sensors, video analytics, and machine learning to detect rail crossing closures, integrate with Connected Vehicle technology, and provide alerts to the Regional Transportation Management Center with predictive analytics. The contract term is three (3) years.
The estimated dollar amount for this purchase is $2,000,000.00. FDOT has determined that TRAINFO is the only vendor that can provide the required train detection capabilities utilizing acoustic features such as horn, bells, and track vibrations. TRAINFO's system was tested and found to be 100% accurate in providing train presence information and alerts per FDOT's specifications. The system was also deemed compatible with FDOT's existing and planned infrastructure, systems, and networks.
