Summary of PUR7776.pdf
This is a Single Source Procurement Notice issued by the Florida Department of Transportation for coordination and training events with the Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA). The procurement is posted in accordance with Section 287.057(5), Florida Statutes, and will remain posted for a minimum of 15 business days. The Department of Transportation intends to establish a single source contract with the selected vendor to provide comprehensive coordination and training event services specifically designed for the Florida Public Transportation Association membership and stakeholders.
The file establishes the framework for a non-competitive procurement process, indicating that the Department has determined FPTA possesses unique qualifications or capabilities that make them the sole appropriate source for these specialized coordination and training services. No specific contract term, renewal options, pricing structure, or performance requirements are detailed in this summary document, which serves primarily as public notice of the single source contracting intent as required by Florida statute.

(FPTA) acts as a collective voice in promoting the recognition, use, and improvement of public transportation in the State of Florida. The organization’s major purposes are to provide a forum for the exchange of experiences, discussions, and study of mutual problems among FPTA and to act as a positive force in the State of Florida to foster common policies, requirements and educational efforts regarding public transportation. In order to maintain a well-trained and educated workforce, FPTA works in conjunction with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Center for Urban
Transportation Research (CUTR) to plan and hold numerous training opportunities throughout the State of Florida to further the knowledge of transit system personnel and other transportation professionals. These events provide essential training opportunities for FPTA and FDOT. It also provides direct access to the executive management of these systems.
This encourages informational exchanges which result in operational improvements and advancement of the programs administered by the Transit Office. These events also provide technical support and training to the agencies delivering rural transit services.

FPTA has specialized knowledge of the FDOT’s policies and procedures and it is the representative association of every major public transit agency in Florida. FPTA is the only transit association in Florida that has the staff and resources required by the FDOT to effectively execute training events related to the transit industry.
