About this file
This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for coordination and training events provided by the Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA). The FDOT seeks to procure training workshop services from FPTA to support workforce development and operational improvements within Florida's public transit systems. The contract is for a one-year term, with the request originating from Suzanne Munroe of the FDOT Transit Office. The contact for this procurement is Destyne Grayson at the FDOT Central Office Procurement division, located at 605 Suwannee Street in Tallahassee, Florida. The posting was completed on June 30, 2026, and the procurement was posted in accordance with Section 287.057(3)(c) of the Florida Statutes for a minimum of 15 business days to allow prospective vendors to submit information regarding their ability to provide the requested services.
The estimated dollar amount for this single source contract is $790,459.00. FPTA is justified as the sole source based on its unique qualifications as a non-profit organization representing all major urban and rural transit agencies in Florida, its specialized knowledge of FDOT policies and procedures, and its exclusive staff and resources to effectively execute transit industry training events across the state. FPTA provides essential training opportunities for transit system personnel and other transportation professionals, facilitates informational exchanges that result in operational improvements, and supplies technical support to agencies delivering rural transit services. The procurement document was digitally signed and approved on June 30, 2026, by Carla M. Perry (Procurement Manager) and Giselle Justo (Assistant General Counsel) of the FDOT.
