About this file
This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for temporary bridge parts. The FDOT seeks to procure Acrow 700XS series bridge components for use in temporary bridging applications needed for bridge replacement projects and disaster recovery efforts. The procurement includes a two-year contract term with an estimated quantity covering the department's temporary bridge needs. The contact for this procurement is Destyne Grayson at the FDOT Procurement Office, located at 605 Suwannee Street, Tallahassee, Florida. The notice was posted for a minimum 15 business day review period in accordance with Florida Statutes Section 287.057(3)(c), allowing prospective vendors to submit information regarding their ability to supply the requested commodities.
The estimated dollar amount for this single source purchase is $1,280,000.00. FDOT justifies the single source acquisition with Acrow Corporation of America based on the proprietary nature of the Acrow 700XS series components currently owned and utilized by the department. The agency requires all bridge components to be constructed from high-strength, high-quality U.S. steel from ISO-certified mills and hot-dipped zinc galvanized for corrosion prevention. The justification emphasizes that universal interchangeability and proper fit and function of existing system components can only be assured through procurement from Acrow Corporation of America, as the manufacturer's warranty becomes null and void if components from other manufacturers are used. No known resellers of these proprietary parts exist. Legal review by the Office of General Counsel and the State Purchasing Administrator approval were obtained prior to posting.
