About this file
This is a single source purchase description document from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for coordination and training events to be provided by the Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA). The procurement seeks training workshop services and employee education to plan and hold numerous training opportunities throughout Florida to enhance the knowledge of transit system personnel and other transportation professionals. The contract term is for one year, with information receipt deadline of August 27, 2025, and the document was posted on August 6, 2025. The services fall under commodity classes 86132201 (Training workshop service) and 86111604 (Employee Education), requested by Erin Schepers from the Transit Office.
The estimated contract value is $144,550.00, with FPTA designated as the sole intended source. The single source justification indicates that FPTA is a nonprofit organization representing urban and rural transit systems with extensive experience in brokering training programs statewide, specialized knowledge of FDOT policies and procedures, and is the only transit association in Florida with the necessary staff and resources to effectively execute training events for the transit industry. The procurement supports FPTA's role as a collective voice for public transportation in Florida, working in conjunction with FDOT and the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) to provide essential training opportunities and technical support to transit agencies delivering both urban and rural transit services.
