About this file
This document is a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Description of Intended Single Source Purchase for data center rack space. The procurement seeks to acquire database space for backup and disaster recovery from CoreSite, L.L.C. for a five-year term, with an estimated contract value of $248,374.66. The project involves installing hardware to back up field office data sets in a cloud repository located at CoreSite AT2 in Marietta, Georgia, with two dedicated racks and necessary power. The solicitation will be posted from 04.28.2025 to 05.19.2025, providing a 15-business-day window for potential vendor responses.
The single-source justification stems from FDOT's existing two dedicated data lines (MFN2) already connected to the CoreSite data center, which will provide an offsite repository for data backup and disaster recovery. The department will manage backup and disaster recovery through its existing Veeam environment, and the selected vendor will provide the infrastructure. By utilizing the current CoreSite facility, FDOT aims to avoid secondary costs and time associated with establishing additional data lines to an alternative facility, making this a strategic procurement for maintaining critical information technology infrastructure.
