About this file

This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (Form PUR 7776) from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) for FT-96 Seedling Trays. The FDACS, through its Florida Forest Service (FFS), is authorized to operate a seedling tree nursery program and has identified the need to purchase seedling trays. The FFS has determined that the Stuewe & Sons, Inc. FT-96 seedling tray is the only product that will function with the agency's current sowing line equipment and fit their T-Rail suspension tray holding system. The estimated dollar amount for this one-time purchase is up to $340,000.

The justification for the single-source acquisition is that Stuewe & Sons, Inc. is the sole manufacturer of the FT-96 seedling tray that meets the FFS's requirements. The agency has confirmed the unavailability of competition for this specialized product. After reviewing any information received from prospective vendors, the FDACS intends to enter into a single-source purchase contract with Stuewe & Sons, Inc.
