About this file

This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) for the Florida Department of Education's Division of Blind Services, specifically for the Braille and Talking Book Library. The procurement involves upgrading the existing Spacesaver Eclipse Mobile System shelving, which includes replacing 38 Spacesaver Touchscreen controls and consolidating shelving from two areas into one static shelving configuration. The contract is for a 12-month term, with the document posted on 6/30/2025 and the last day for receipt of information being 7/23/2025.

Patterson-Pope, Inc. is the intended single source vendor, with an estimated contract value of $62,338.60. The justification for the single-source acquisition is that Spacesaver mechanical shelving is a proprietary product distributed only through authorized dealers, and Patterson-Pope is the sole representative trained and authorized to provide this service in Florida. The current shelving system no longer has a maintenance agreement or warranty, and there are safety and operational concerns that necessitate this upgrade. The procurement covers commodity codes for shelving and storage, library furnishings, and merchandiser installation hardware and accessories.
