About this file

This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) filed by the Florida Department of Revenue for maintenance services on OPEX mailing equipment. The department seeks a 12-month maintenance and software license agreement for OPEX equipment utilized by the General Tax Administration division, with a contract term running from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. The notice was posted on May 12, 2026, with a deadline for prospective vendors to submit information regarding their ability to supply the requested services by May 18, 2026 at 3:00 pm. The posting period extends through June 3, 2026. This is not a competitive solicitation but rather a notice of intent to enter into a single-source purchase agreement, allowing interested parties an opportunity to provide information about their capability to supply equivalent services.

The estimated dollar amount for this maintenance agreement is $400,000.00. OPEX Corporation is identified as the intended single source due to their status as the sole authorized provider for sales, parts, and services for this equipment. The justification for single-source procurement cites the proprietary nature of the service diagnostic software, which is protected by various patents and copyrights and has not been released to third parties. Additionally, OPEX's maintenance staff possesses the specialized technical training and experience required to support and maintain the equipment. Contact for inquiries is Tanisha Miller in the Purchasing department at 850-717-6473 or Tanisha.Miller@floridarevenue.com.
