About this file
This is a Notice of Intended Decision to Enter into a Single Source Contract (PUR 7778) issued by the Florida Department of State, specifically the Division of Historical Resources, Bureau of Historical Museums. The document details a single source contract with Honeywell International, Inc. for security system monitoring and maintenance services for museum areas. The contract is critical for operating a proprietary security system that secures and monitors museum spaces, includes video backup capabilities, and requires specialized proprietary technicians from Honeywell to maintain and service the system.
The total contract price is $49,982.33, and the justification for the single source purchase stems from Honeywell's custom-designed proprietary security system, which was specified by an outside museum security expert. The vendor only allows its direct employees, who are certified by Honeywell, to work on this technical system. The contract aligns with Florida statute 267.031(4)(i), which mandates protecting and preserving historic resources, and helps safeguard museum artifacts and public spaces with high traffic and valuable resources.
