About this file

This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of State. The Department of State is seeking to procure an annual subscription on microfilm for five Florida newspapers: Florida Times Union, Orlando Sentinel, Pensacola News Journal, Tampa Bay Times, and Tallahassee Democrat. The total quantity is for a one-year term from January 1, 2025 to December 21, 2025. The Department has identified ProQuest LLC as the sole source vendor for these microfilm subscriptions. The estimated dollar amount for this procurement is $65,404.00.

The Department has indicated that these newspaper microfilm subscriptions are necessary to fulfill daily requests from library staff, state employees, and the general public, as the majority of obituary and article requests are from these major metropolitan areas across the state. ProQuest has attested that these materials are only available through them and not through any third-party vendor.
