About this file

This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (Form PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for the acquisition of Axon Enterprises conducted energy weapons (tasers), accessories, and related services. The agency seeks to purchase Taser 10 or newer models along with equipment bundles, required accessories, cartridges, service plans, warranties, training, and training aids. The requestor is Captain Mattison Prowant of the Division of Law Enforcement. The last day for receipt of vendor information is August 28, 2026, and the contract term is five years from the issuance of the initial purchase order. No bidders conference or site visit is mentioned in the documentation.

The estimated dollar amount for this single source purchase is $6,000,000.00. The agency justifies the single source acquisition by asserting that Axon Enterprises is the only manufacturer of the Taser 10 with the capability to fire 10 single darts before requiring reload, a feature unique among available tasers. Additionally, Axon's proprietary Virtual Reality training package allows officers to develop tactical proficiency and de-escalation skills without expending cartridges. The procurement is governed by Florida Statutes sections 120.57(3) and 287.057(3), and the agency will make a final determination regarding single source status after reviewing any information submitted by prospective vendors. The contact for vendor inquiries is Rachel Massey at rachel.massey@myfwc.com or (850) 510-9990.
