About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) published by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). FDLE is seeking to procure 20 units of IBIS BRASSTRAX Acquisition Stations and IBIS MATCHPOINT Analysis Stations to connect to the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) IBIS Data Concentrator and IBIS Correlation Server. These products are required to support FDLE's mission of promoting public safety and strengthening domestic security by providing services to local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies. The procurement is intended to be a single source acquisition from Forensic Technology Inc., as the sole manufacturer of the required IBIS equipment, which is compatible with the National Integrated Ballistics Information (NIBIN) system owned and operated by the ATF. The procurement is valued at an estimated $4,000,000.
Forensic Technology Inc. is the sole source for the required IBIS equipment, as no other ballistic identification technologies are compatible with the NIBIN system. FDLE has determined that the commodities or contractual services are available only from Forensic Technology Inc. and is providing the statutorily required 15-business day notice of its intended decision to enter into a single-source purchase contract.
