About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (Form PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for SPOT-275F, inline backmount, curved satellite GPS transmitters. The purpose of this purchase is to track the fine-scale movements of diamondback terrapins along Florida's Gulf Coast as part of a collaborative project between FWC and the U.S. Geological Survey. The estimated dollar amount for this single-source procurement is $46,400.00, and the term is one year. FWC is requesting information from prospective vendors regarding their ability to supply the required commodities by March 18, 2024.
The justification for the single-source acquisition is that the SPOT-275F tags have unique features, including customized shape and software, that are necessary for the research project. The vendor, Wildlife Computers, also offers complimentary technical support for these transmitters, which is important to ensure the accurate collection of data. The project is funded by a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service State Wildlife Grant, CFDA No. 15.634.
