About this file

This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) filed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for laboratory equipment maintenance services from BUCHI Corporation. The Division of Agricultural Environmental Services is seeking maintenance, support, repairs, parts, supplies, software, and hardware support for all BUCHI Corporation equipment used in the division's laboratories. These systems are essential for performing analytical work that supports the division's mission to ensure the quality and safety of feed, seed, fertilizer, and pesticides, as well as supporting licensing and regulatory oversight for pest control and agricultural pesticide applicators. The contract term runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The deadline for prospective vendors to submit information regarding their ability to supply the requested services is June 24, 2026, which represents a 15-business-day advertisement period. The contract contact is Brittany Harvey, located at 407 S. Calhoun Street, SB-8 Mayo Building, Tallahassee, Florida 32399, with telephone (850) 617-7181 and email Procurement@FDACS.gov.

The estimated dollar amount for this single-source contract is approximately $45,000, with a maximum of $50,000. BUCHI Corporation has been identified as the sole source because it is the original manufacturer of the equipment and possesses the exclusive technical expertise required to provide maintenance, repair services, training, parts, and supplies specific to these proprietary systems. No third-party vendors are authorized or capable of providing the necessary services due to the specialized components and manufacturer-certified support requirements. The acquisition was approved by Kelly Friend (Director, Division of Agricultural Environmental Services), Patricia Lucas (Chief, Division of Agricultural Environmental Services), Stephanie Bergozza (Purchasing Director II, Division of Administration), and Joey B. Hicks (Director, Division of Administration).
