About this file

This is a Notice of Intent to Procure (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for a single-source purchase of laboratory equipment maintenance services. The procurement involves two divisions within the department: the Division of Agricultural Environmental Services and the Division of Food Safety. The requested service encompasses maintenance, support, repairs, parts, supplies, software, and hardware support for all Agilent Technologies Inc. analytical equipment currently in use. These systems are critical for conducting complex chemical residue analysis in food samples to support the department's pesticide regulatory program, the United States Department of Agriculture Pesticide Data Program, and the Food Emergency Response Network. The contract term runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The deadline for prospective vendors to submit information regarding their ability to supply the requested commodities or services is July 7, 2026, with the notice having been posted on June 12, 2026. No bidders conference or site visits are mentioned in the documentation.

The estimated contract amount is approximately $149,182.80, with a maximum cap of $200,000.00. Agilent Technologies, Inc. has been identified as the sole source for this procurement, as the company is the original equipment manufacturer and the only known source of maintenance, parts, and supplies compatible with the existing equipment. The justification for single-source acquisition reflects the specialized nature of the analytical systems and the critical role they play in the department's mission to protect public health and ensure food safety. The procurement was approved by multiple stakeholders within the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, including division directors, laboratory chiefs, and procurement officials. This advertisement serves as the statutory 15-business-day notice required under Florida law before the agency may proceed with entering into a single-source contract.
