OAM ensures that state and local air quality programs operating ambient air monitors in Florida meet all federal requirements related to network design, instrument siting and operation, and quality assurance. Florida’s monitoring network currently assesses air quality for approximately 92 percent of the state’s population, representing more than 19 million residents.

The Office of Air Monitoring (OAM) must ensure compliance with the requirements of Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 58 for implementation of the Clean Air Act (CAA). To meet these requirements, OAM must ensure that sufficient quantities of Agilaire upgrade kits for the Agilaire 8872 Data Acquisition System (DAS) are available to meet the federal completeness and quality assurance standards outlined in 40 CFR Part 58. These upgrades support the operational readiness and reliability of Florida’s Statewide Air Monitoring Network, which consists of ambient air quality monitoring stations located throughout the state.

Agilaire is currently utilized by DEP throughout the State’s air monitoring network to collect raw data from our automated criteria pollutant monitors. The upgrade kits will increase CPU speed, double the amount of RAM and SSD space, support dual HDMI monitors, and include the TPM chip required for Windows 11 support.
